Matthew Richmond has performed, composed, recorded, and taught in a variety of styles and settings, from rock, jazz, and world music bands to symphony orchestras, musical theater, and drum and bugle corps. Currently he appears with Like Mind Trio (original jazz), stephaniesid (pop-noir), and the Asheville Symphony Orchestra.

As a composer, Mr. Richmond has created works for string orchestra, symphonic band, jazz ensemble, chamber ensembles, electronics, and instrumental soloists. He composed and directed music for Gilgamesh, a dance-drama by Black Swan Theatre and the Asheville Ballet, and Blind Desire, an original play by The Road Company theater group. In 2010 he composed, recorded, produced, and performed the musical score for the feature film Flight of the Cardinal.
