Justin Baumann
Class of 2005 (Bachelor of Science in Music Technology - Jazz Guitar))
After graduation Justin began a career in the music industry as an audio engineer, production, tour, stage, promotions manager on Vans Warped Tour, Rockstar Taste of Chaos, and with the band State Radio touring North America, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Europe, and the U.K. Currently, he's an audio engineer at The Orange Peel.
Michael Boothroyd
Class of 2000 (Bachelor of Arts in Music/Jazz Studies - guitar)
Having completed three original fingerstyle instrumental CD's (Journal of Chords, Fanfare of the Fireflies, Holding and Aurora) Michael is now working on a fourth fingerstyles guitar CD titled Liquid Purse. He is presently an instructor in guitar at the Asheville Music School.
Jamie Candiloro
Class of 1995 (Bachelor of Arts in Music/Recording Arts - Percussion)
After working in studios in the 90s, Jamie went on to work with R.E.M., Courtney Love, The Eagles, Willie Nelson and Ryan Adams. He is a multi-instrumentalist himself and his most recent release is Ryan Adams and The Cardinals Vol III IV. His current headquarters is in Los Angeles.
Joel Chapen
Bachelor of Science in Music Technology
After his Internship with Bob Moog at Big Briar, Joel went on to Mills College for a graduate degree. He now lives in Redondo Beach, CA pursuing an MSW degree at USC and gives private lessons in audio production to kids eleven and up.
James Dawkins
Class of 2011 (Bachelor of Science in Music Technology) - bass
Since graduation, James has been pursuing a career as a bassist, vocalist and song writer in the Asheville band ¡Rad & Jamez! which also includes ‘Rad’ Andy (Williamson); both members are UNC Asheville alumni.
Jordan Donnelly
Class of 2013 (Bachelor of Arts in Music - trumpet)
Jordan plans to attend Physical Therapy school and work towards a career as an athletic trainer for a high school or university athletic department.
Ben Falcon
Class of 2010 (Bachelor of Arts in Music/Jazz Studies - percussion)
Ben plays in four bands consuming a lot of his evening hours. So, as he puts it, in order to stay away from working late and to save money, he became a Realtor after graduating from UNCA. This enabled him to focus on music more and earn more than he says he needs.
Andrew Frankhouse
Class of 2007 (Bachelor of Arts/Jazz Studies magna cum laude - saxophone)
Andrew was recently hired to create a new 5-12th grade music program, including coursework in musicology, electronic music, and African American music, conducting high school musical productions, and laying the groundwork for school-wide vocal and instrumental performance programs. He received his Master of Music degree with distinction in Modern American Music from the Longy School of Music.
Lauren Habenicht
Class of 2009 (Bachelor of Arts in Music - voice)
Lauren is a Marketing Assistant / Project Coordinator with Elly Wells Marketing + Project Management in Asheville, whose clients include: Diana Wortham Theatre's Mainstage Series, Shindig on the Green and The Mountain Dance and Folk Festival. Her band Young Couples plays regularly in town, and she recently recorded an album with Sons of Ralph.
